At the Retina Macula Institute, we have a fully equipped clinical research department which provides our patients with the opportunity to participate in clinical trials targeting new treatments for retinal diseases.

RMI has partnered with some of the nation's top pharmaceutical companies and other clinical practices to explore the causes and cures for many retinal conditions. We take special care to ensure that our study patients experience the best medical care possible.

It is easy for patients to participate successfully in our studies and make informed decisions. Eligibility is determined through a screening process, which varies with each new clinical trial. If you are determined to be ineligible for a study, the clinical coordinator and physician at the Retina Macula Institute will continue to care for your eyes and provide you with the best care available.

For many years, the doctors at RMI have been committed to participating in clinical trials to ensure that our patients have access to the newest, state-of-the-art preventative or therapeutic treatments. Dr. Ron Gallemore has been a principal investigator in more than 60 clinical trials.
