Individual Biographies

Esmeralda Gallemore RMI CofounderEsmeralda Gallemore is the Founding Practice Administrator for the Retina Macula Institute (RMI) and has helped build it from the ground up. Fueled by this experience and an entrepreneurial spirit, she has gone on to establish Veyetamins Inc., for the purpose of developing and distributing the highest quality, most advanced nutritional supplements for patients with eye disorders

After completing her Associate of Arts at Chaffey College, Esmeralda went on to attend UCLA, where she had the opportunity to work closely with Dr. Kevin Miller, M.D., at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA School of Medicine. It was during this time she made the decision to pursue a career in Ophthalmology and became actively involved in clinical research, publishing multiple papers including “Management of Retinal Vein Occlusion: What the Clinical Trials Tell Us” (Retina Today, April 2013) and “Combined Scleral Flap with Donor Scleral Patch Graft for Anterior Tube Placement in Glaucoma Drainage Device Surgery” (Case Reports in Ophthalmology Medicine 2016).

Esmeralda is a Certified Instructor through accredited programs, including National Eyecare Ophthalmic Technician Training (OTT), and a nationally-recognized Certified Lecturer for the Joint Commission of Allied Health Professionals (JCAHPO), the Ophthalmic Photographer’s Society (OPS) and the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). She has advanced subspecialty technical training in a variety of fields including Retina, Vitreous and Macular disorders (AAO, JCAHPO), Refractive Surgery (VISX University), Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus (AAO), and Neuroophthalmology (AAO).

With a strong background in ophthalmology and retinal disorders – in particular, employee training, education, marketing and practice development – she has worked with numerous practices as a consultant, both in the U.S. and abroad, with recognition by contemporaries for her skills, hard work and dedication. Esmeralda teaches courses in a variety of fields, including Retina, Vitreous and Macular disorders, Refractive Surgery, Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus, and Oculoplastics. She organized and directed the first accredited Ophthalmic Technician Update Meeting in Southern California in 2006 with a faculty roster consisting of leaders in ophthalmic subspecialties, billing, coding and medical-legal consulting; and has participated in medical missions in Fiji, El Salvador, Mexico and Chile. More recently she has developed the Multi-specialty Ophthalmology Update Meeting held in Manhattan Beach , CA.

Having witnessed the devastating effects of macular disease, Esmeralda was inspired to use her experience in retinal angiography and clinical research to team up with the Founder and Director of RMI, Dr. Ron Gallemore. Calling on the latest clinical research, including data from the AREDS I & II Clinical Trials (demonstrating the benefits of lutein, zeaxanthin, zinc and other supplements, as well as the risks of high dose vitamin A), the Annals of Internal Medicine Meta-Analysis Study from Johns Hopkins (indicating that High Vitamin E levels increase all-cause mortality), and other controlled studies in antioxidant research, they began development of a vitamin that could help patients with macular disorders, including age-related macular degeneration, hereditary retinal degenerations and other forms of retinopathy.

Veyetamins Inc. is proud to unveil a state-of-the-art supplement, Macula and Body Protect, for patients with Retinal Disorders and their families. The unique formula is an AREDS II based product that includes a multivitamin and antioxidants designed to help fight the silent killers of sight, by slowing the progression of macular degeneration, all while acting as a nutritional supplement for the entire body. This pharmaceutical grade product is optimally effective, risk free, easy to swallow and tastes great!
